No names are mentioned on the monument.
To the left of the monument is a bronze plaque that was found in 2010 in the attic of the old town hall.
Text on this plaque (translation) : “1914 – 1918 / THE CITY OF DURBUY / TO ITS HEROES”
The name of the square “Place du 8 mai 1945” commemorates the victory day on which Nazi Germany officially capitulated.
