Fort Point

Fort Point is located under the Golden Gate Bridge and was part of the harbor defense of San Francisco. The fort was operational during the American Civil War. In the Second World War, the fort was expanded with concrete observationposts, searchlights and four 3" guns to protect the anti-submarine net.

The fort can be visited, but only the observationposts, at the oceanside of the fort and the fundaments of the guns remained.
