B-17 (2nd Lt. Kingsley) Crash Memorial

This memorial commemorates 2nd Lt. Kingsley who died here in a B-17 bomber crash on 23 June 1944. For courage, heroism and sacrifice, Kingsley was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. The names of seven Bulgarian civilians who were killed after the plane struck their village, are also included.
