Memorial Boer War Royal Irish Rifles

This memorial in the grounds of Belfast City Hall commemorates the 132 soldiers of the Royal Irish Rifles who gave their lives in the Anglo-Boer War (or South African War) (1899-1902).

"In memory of the Officers, No-Commissioned Officers and Men of the Royal Irish Rifles who were killed in action or died of wounds or disease in the South African War 1899-1902"

On the rear of the plinth
"In memory of those who served in the 83rd (County of Dublin) regiment and the 86th (Royal County Down) regiment 1793-1881, The Royal Ulster Rifles 1881-1921 and the Royal Ulster Rifles 1921-1968"
