These plaques in St. Peter and St. Paul's Cathedral are in memory of:

The sinking of the HMS Sheffield, on 4 May 1982 when 20 died.

The police Constables Fred Gosling and Bertram Peart, who gave their lives on 28 November 1899 in the South-African War (2nd Boer War). It also commemorates the men of the Hallamshire Volunteer Battalion, The York & Lancaster Regiment, who gave their lives in the South-African War (2nd Boer War).
