Memorial Bear River Massacre

The Bear River Massacre, or the Battle of Bear River or Massacre at Boa Ogoi, took place on 29 January 1863, becaure of political interests due to the American Civil War (1861-1865). Hundreds of Shoshone men, women and children were killed near their lodges, while only two dozen soldiers died.
