Confederate Memorials Lexington Cemetery

Lexington Cemetery contains several Confederate Memorials commemoratingL

- Confederate Soldier Monument: The residents of Lexington who served in the Confederates and gave their lives in the American Civil War (1861-1865).
- Ladies' Confederate Memorial: The Confederate war dead in the American Civil War.
- John C. Breckinridge, who had been born and died in Lexington. He was Vice President for James Buchanan and ran against Abraham Lincoln in the United States presidential election, 1860, winning nine Southern states. He served in the Confederate States Army and was the last Confederate States Secretary of War, fleeing the country after the South lost. The memorial was moved to the cemetery in 2018.
- John Hunt Morgan from Lexington. He was a Confederate general in the American Civil War who was killed at Greeneville, Tennessee on 4 September 1864. He is buried on the cemetery. The memorial was moved to the cemetery in 2018.
