Colored Soldiers Monument

This memorial in Green Hill Cemetery commemorates the Afro-American soldiers that participated in the American Civil War (1861-1865). Inscribed around the column are the names of 142 Afro-American soldiers that hailed from central Kentucky.
It is the only memorial with this subject in Kentucky and one of only four in the entire United States.
