Baros 6, known in Japanese as Bunshi II camp 6, was an internment camp for white civilians and military personnel during the Japanese occupation.
The camp was located in the southern part of Tjimahi (now Cimahi), on both sides of Barosweg; it was successively a prisoner-of-war camp, a women's camp and a boys' camp. It consisted of two parts on either side of Barosweg: on the west side, the “Willemstraat section” and on the east side, the “Baros section”; two guarded gates allowed access from one part to the other, but one had to have a valid reason for wanting to cross over. There were also other camps in Tjimahi, such as the train camp, Tjimahi 4 and Tjimahi 5.
NB both images give an impression of the camps in Tjimahi but are not necessarily of Baros 6.
