Bay Pines National Cemetery

The National Cemeteries in the U.S.A. are used for graves of war dead, graves of U.S. military personnel, veterans and their spouses but not exclusively so. There are also special state veteran cemeteries.

Bay Pines National Cemetery was opened in 1933 for those who died in the nearby veterans' hospitals. In 2008, there were in total 27,369 graves on this cemetery.


Bay Pines National Cemetery contains the graves of the following people, who fought for the United States of America and who gave their lives in the War in Afghanistan and/or Operation Enduring Freedom:

08 October 2002 , Lance Corporal Antonio James "Tony" Sledd, aged 20
12 March 2010 , Corporal Jonathan Daniel "Jonny" Porto, aged 26
16 June 2011 , Sergeant Mark Andrew Bradley, aged 25


Bay Pines National Cemetery contains the graves of the following people, who fought for the United States of America and who gave their lives in the War in Iraq and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom:

21 June 2005 , Sergeant James Douglas Stewart, aged 29
29 August 2005 , 2nd Lieutenant Charles Robert Rubado, aged 23
3 October 2005 , Private 1st Class Roberto Carlos Baez, aged 19
