Florence National Cemetery

The National Cemeteries in the U.S.A. are used for graves of war dead, graves of U.S. military personnel, veterans and their spouses but not exclusively so. There are also special state veteran cemeteries.

Florence National Cemetery was opened in 1865. In 2014, there were in total over 9000 graves on this cemetery. The cemetery contains of two separate cemeteries on both sides of the street.


Florence National Cemetery contains the graves of the following people, who fought for the United States of America and who gave their lives in the War in Iraq and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom:

27 March 2004 , Master Sergeant Timothy Toney, aged 37
20 February 2006 , Staff Sergeant Jay Tirona Collado, aged 31
21 February 2006 , 2nd Lieutenant Almar LaRon Fitzgerald, aged 23
13 August 2007 , Corporal Juan Manuel Lopez Jr., aged 23
8 March 2010 , Sergeant Aaron M. Arthur, aged 25
