Memorial Frances Vega

This plaque, on the main gate (which is named after her) of Fort Buchanan, commemorates U.S. Army Spc. Frances Vega. She was assigned to the 151st Adjutant General Postal Detachment 3 and was killed in Fallujah, Iraq, when the Chinook helicopter in which she was a passenger was shot down, on 2 November 2003.
