San Antonio National Cemetery

The National Cemeteries in the U.S.A. are used for graves of war dead, graves of U.S. military personnel, veterans and their spouses but not exclusively so. There are also special state veteran cemeteries.

San Antonio National Cemetery was opened to reinter Civil War Union soldiers from the city cemetery and outlying cemeteries, over 300 of which are unknown. In 2005, there were in total 3,163 graves on this cemetery.
