Fort Meade National Cemetery

The National Cemeteries in the U.S.A. are used for graves of war dead, graves of U.S. military personnel, veterans and their spouses but not exclusively so. There are also special state veteran cemeteries.

Fort Meade National Cemetery was opened in 1878. There are only 209 graves, almost only of veterans of the American Civil War. It has been closed to new interments since the end of World War II.
