Anerkennungsurkunde des OBdH für Flugzeugabschüsse

This version of the "Anerkennungsurkunde", was introduced on September 6th 1941 by Generalfeldmarschall Walther von Brauchitsch, then Oberbefehlshaber des Heeres. The document was awarded for shooting down an enemy aeroplane with ordinary infantry weapons. It could be awarde to units or to individual military of the Heer and Waffen-SS.

The document was a pre-printed paper in size A5, filled in on a typewriter. Till his leave the document was signed by von Brauchitsch personly. After Adolf Hitler took over command, the document was re-designed in size A4 and signed by Hitler. The text on the document says: "Ich spreche dem/der ... für den Abschuss eines feindlichen Flugzeuges bei ... am ... meine besondere Anerkennung aus."

When on January 12th 1945 the "Sonderabzeichen für den Abschuss von Flugzeugen durch Handfeuerwaffen oder kleinkalibrige Maschinenwaffen" or so-called "Tieffliegervernichtungsabzeichen" was introduced, in the award rules it was recorded that the decoration could be awarded to recipients of the "Anerkennungsurkunde für Flugzeugabschüsse bei Abschuss mit Infanteriewaffen", that received this one after June 22nd 1941.
