Excavation Halifax DT795
RAF Handley Page Halifax DT795 crashed at Wapenveld (Netherlands) on the 3rd of April 1943. The seven crew members perished. On 8 September 2014 the excavation of the aircraft has started.
The crash location is close to "Molen de Vlijt" at "Vrieze's Erfgoed". There's a small exhibition. On saturday 20 September there is an open day from 10:00 till 16:00 hrs. For more information (Dutch only).
Three of the crew members are buried in Leusden. The others are buried at Wapenveld cemetery.
