Biography
On september 17th, 1940 the Oberleutnant zur SeeCarl-Hermann Burmeister and crew flew in the Heinkel He 115, S4+BK from 2. Staffel, Küstenfliegergruppe 506 from Tromsø to Kapp Linné in southern Spitzbergen to help determine the feasibility of setting up a weather station - then flew to the Soviet weather station at arentsberg in Grønfjord, then returned to Norway.
