Major R.C. Peltzer E Lan R and Major A.G. Puttock Y & L reported to HQ 8 Corps (Rear) and assumed the appointments of SO2 CA (Exec) and SO2 VA (Adm) respectively.

Peltzer) visited 218 det and local Ponts et Chaussees official at BALLEROY ref 39 civilian workers required to help local road-menders. Went on to Lab Second Army and discussed question with them and then went to CA Lab office in BAYEUX. No definite arrangements made.

SO 2E (Maj RC Peltzer) visited 203 A Det at EINDHOVEN to arrange hand over to them of all area South of HELMOND – DEURNE.

SO 2s E (Majors WL Brown - RC Peltzer) and NCAO visited 218 Det to discuss refugee situation and evacuation problem. Refugees scattered in four villages and outlying farms making collection difficult. Decided tpt for 6 Oct not reqd until 1400 hrs.

22 October 1944 WO 171/304 - 8 Corps CA
SO2 E (Major Peltzer) and SO2 A (Major Mitchell) visited 11 Armd Div Main ref evac of village LEUNEN. Found that Div had already contacted 218 Det (DEURNE) and made arrangements. Tpt being provided by 11 Armd Div and evac to CRTA to start at 0600 hrs 23 Oct.

2 November 1944 WO 171/304 - 8 Corps CA
SO2 (E) (Major Peltzer) and Major Stok (NCAO) visited the Burgomaster MIERLO. The following arrangements were made:- (1) Population to be notified of curfew and Notices posted (2) Exemption passes to be issued at 1500 hrs (3) Accomodation for civilians breaking curfew - Town Hall available (4) Burgomaster to arrange Police Guard and instruct them to keep civilians until following morning.

13 December 1944 WO 171/304 - 8 Corps CA
Second Army phoned to say 2 Press Reps coming to see and report on BLERICK evacuation. SCOA left 1030 Hrs to visit it ST ANTHONIS – VENRAY – HELDEN with intention of meeting Press Reps at HELDEN and accompany them to BLERICK evacuation. Major Gorman (218 Det) visited CA 8 Corps about 1400 hrs – reported BLERICK evacuation completed on the previous night except for a few persons. On this information SO1 (E) (Major Peltzer) rang up Second Army to stop Press Reps but found they had not yet left.
