    Biography

    Dr. Otto Korfes finally reached the rank of Generalmajor during the Second World War. During his Soviet imprisonment he was a member of the Nationalkomitee Freies Deutschland (NKFD), for which he was releaved of the Wehrmacht on 28th November 1944. After the war he sereved from 1st October 1952 until 31st March 1956 with the Eastern German Kasernierte Volkspolizei (KVP), which was later to become the Nationale Volksarmee (NVA).
