Biography

Frank was born on March 12 1916 in Ottawa, the son of Frank Lawrence Orme (deceased in 1940) and Mildred Fanny Orme nee Kerr of Ottawa. His brother was James Lawrence Orme and his sisters were Elizabeth Gray, Edith and Dulcie Orme.

He was a chartered accountant and member of the United Church. His sports were badminton, golf and skiing and his hobby was sailing.

He enlisted on May 18 1940 in Ottawa and he went thereafter on February 17 1941 from Canada overseas to the UK.

Frank was killed in action on Thursday August 28 1941 age 25 due to a crash behind the Govert Wijnkade at Maassluis before or after an attack on Rotterdam.

The other fallen RAF Volunteer Reserve crew members were P/O Stanley F.M. Gunnis age 23 in grave F-35 and F/O Albert H. Collins age 34 also in grave F-35.

He served with the 21 (R.A.F.) Sqdn Royal Canadian Air Force.
