Biography

Charles A. Gross Jr., entered service with the Army Air Corps on November 22nd, 1941 at Camp Lee, Virginia. He served as 2nd Lieutenant and pilot on board the North American B-25 G #42-64957, 820th Bomber Squadron, 41st Bomber Group. On January 15th, 1944 the aircraft left for a bombardment mission at Taroa, Marshall Islands. Before reaching the target the aircraft was shot down by a Japanese fighter. All crew members were killed.

Carl J. Adler, Staff Sergeant, gunner;
James E. Anderson, Technical Sergeant, radio-telegrafist;
George M. Bourdon, 2nd Lieutenant, navigator;
Junnie G. Carter, 2nd Lieutenant, co-pilot;
Nicola G. Gervasoni, Technical Sergeant, mechanic;
Charles A. Gross Jr., 2nd Lieutenant, pilot.
