Action:
On the 26.11.1942, during Operation Mars, Lindemann and his Regiment were deployed in the Lutschessa valley and Lindemann given operational control of this area’s defense. Two days later the Soviets renewed their attack in this area with many soldiers and about 200 tanks. Under Lindemann’s command however this new assault was successfully contained, the situation later being rectified completely by counterattacking Panzer forces. For his contributions during this battle Lindemann would receive the Knight’s Cross.
