Biography

Gunner John Hamson Buswell
396th Bty, 121st (The Leicestershire Regt.) Lt. A.A. Regt. Royal Artillery
Killed on 5 November 1944 by a sniper near Grave. Shot while carrying out a patrol.
Temporarily buried in a field grave opposite the General de Bons barracks in Grave.
Reburied in May 1946 at Uden War Cemetery.
His father, Gunner Arthur Thomas Buswell, 160th Siege Bty, Royal Garrison Artillery, was killed on 11 November 1917 near Ypres (Belgium) and is buried at The Huts Cemetery in Ypres. The two had never seen each other. Father Arthur had already been stationed on the Belgian front before his son's death and never returned.
