Flying Officer Glenn Hugh Blachford
431 (Iroquois) Sqdn. RCAF
Killed in action on 17-6-1944
Pilot of the Halifax Mk. III-bomber NA514 SE-B. Shot down in the night of 17-6-1944 by a night fighter of the German airbase Venlo (the Netherlands) and crashed between Nistelrode and Vorstenbosch, the hamlet Groote Heide, Brakse Dijk, in front of the farm of the van Uden family. It took off from the airbase Croft in Yorkshire. The target of the mission was Sterkrade in the German Ruhr-area. He was found dead in the wreckage of his aircraft.
