He had taken off from Binbrook Air Base at 2:04 a.m. The destination of the flight was Krupp, Essen (Germany).
He was buried as an unknown in the rectory garden of St. Peter's Church in Uden.
He was identified in mid-1942.

He was reburied in the British War Cemetery Uden in the summer of 1946.
Sgt. G. Macey was taken prisoner of war, seriously wounded.
