Biography

Flying Officer Innis Lindsay Elwin Gould
431 Sqdn. RCAF
He was a crew member of Halifax bomber NA514 SE-B, which was shot down by a German night fighter on its way to the bombing target Sterkrade (Germany). It crashed near the Groote Heide, Braksedijk between Nistelrode and Vorstenbosch. Three of the seven crew members were killed. Two of them were recovered immediately. Gould was not found dead until June 27, 1944, in a cornfield, approximately 150 meters from the wreckage of the aircraft. He was found while mowing by Mr. Wijdeven from Nistelrode.
Gould was buried on June 28, 1944, in the Uden Municipal War Cemetery.
