Sergeant George Wilbert Jeffrey
Air Observer RCAF, No. 15 Squadron
He was navigator of Stirling bomber N3658 LS-E, which crashed on its return from a bombing raid on the Krupp factories in Essen, to the right of the Overasselt-Nederasselt road and largely on the
farm ‘de Morsheuvel’ belonging to farmer J. Welles, on Kerkstraat. All seven crew members and the three members of the Welles family were killed.
On 10 August 1941, the crew members were buried in four coffins as unknown persons in the unconsecrated part of the cemetery of the Roman Catholic St. Petrus Church in Uden.
In May 1942, they were registered by name and on 19 June 1946, they were transferred to the current cemetery, where each pilot was given his own grave.
