Flying Officer (Air Bomber) Spencer William Lough

He was a crew member of Halifax bomber NA514 SE-B, which was shot down by a German night fighter on its way to the bombing target Sterkrade (Germany). It crashed near the Groote Heide, Braksedijk, between Nistelrode and Vorstenbosch. Three of the seven crew members were killed. Two of them were recovered immediately.
Lough was found under his unopened parachute on June 17, 1944, in the hamlet of Bedaf in Uden, behind the Van der Kamp family farm.
He was buried on June 20, 1944, in the Uden Municipal War Cemetery.
