Conscript soldier, Ost-Cie, 5th Battalion, Princess Irene Guard Regiment. Most likely enlisted at the Menno van Coehoorn Barracks in Arnhem and departed from Rotterdam on 26 November 1947 on the MS Kota-Inten bound for the Dutch East Indies, arriving in Padang, Sumatra, on 23 December of that year.

Killed in action on the second day of the “second police action” on 20 December 1948 in the vicinity of Solok.

Antonie Klein Gotink was initially buried in the military cemetery in Padang. In 1962, he was reburied in the Leuwigajah military cemetery in Cimahi (Bandung).

* The entire battalion was mobilised in this barracks and departed for the Dutch East Indies on this date.
