Biography

Richard Alexandre Dumas, son of Clayton W. Dumas and H. Audrey Dumas, from St. Anne de Bellevue, Province of Quebec, Canada. Pilot Officer, bomb aimer Handley Page Halifax HX279 ZL-Z RCAF 427 “Lion” Squadron.

Killed in action at age 21 on 18 March 1944 after his aircraft was shot down by a German night fighter near Trier during a mission from RAF Leeming to Frankfurt. Five of the seven crew members were killed in the crash. They were initially buried in Trier and later reburied in a communal grave at Choloy War Cemetery.
