Lieutenant Commander Duffy was Second Engineer under Tug Captain Tom Coker of the tug Vulcan during Operation Postmaster. His tug was tasked with towing the Italian freighter Duchessa d'Aosta from Santa Isabel harbor and successfully brought it back to Lagos.
