Biography

Cornelis G. served in the Allied invasion force at Normandy, where he transshipped and brought ashore war materiel. In August 1945, as a crew member of the s.s. Libra, he kept a crate of Dutch State coins for himself during unloading, for which he was convicted in 1947.
