Biography

First lieutenant and advanced observer in 4th battery of artillery regiment (motorized) 3 of 3rd infantry division (motorized) he was captured by the Soviets in Stalingrad at the end of January 1943. Since then, there has been no trace of him. He is said to have been last seen in a prisoner-of-war camp in the Stalingrad area. For his missions he received the Knight's Cross on November 4th, 1943.
