24.08.1944: Bootsmannsmaat, U 354, KIA when U-354 was waterbombed by Sloops HMS 'MERMAID' (U.30), HMS 'PEAKOCK' (U.96), Frigatte HMS 'LOCH DUNVEGAN' (K.425) and Cruiser HMS 'KEPPEL' (D.84) and sunk in the Barents Sea, North East of Nordkap / North Cape - all hands lost (51 KIA)
