25.08.1944: 'U-188' was blown up in the U-boat bunker of the 12th U-Flotilla by a German demolition squad
The boat should be transferred from France to Norway. But due to the lack of new batteries and the lack :of roadworthiness, the boat could not be made ready for use in time.
00.00.1947/ the wreck was broken off and scrapped
