Left Mexico for Germany approximately in 1922, where he became a stage actor. In approximately 1938 he married fellow actress Cordula ??, with whom he had two children: Alexander (b. 1939,currently living in Munich and Mayorca) and Katrina(died c.1945). After WW2 he spent four years in captivity in former Yugoslavia and after being freed he returned to Mexico where he married Christa Busch in 1952, with whom he had two children, Bernhard (b.1953) and Ursula (b.1957).
