No proof in the BA, it is estimated by Fellgiebel that the award was made via Chef HPA Burgdorf at Berlin - [per author V.S.] this seems to be very unprobable because Gen.Kdo Korps Oder and most probably the alarm unit under command of V. before, too, were under command of HGr Weichsel ; this would have required the official channel via the HGr headquarter. The case of V. is not mentioned in the files of the OdR Ordenskommission. Vierecker's family does own a photo (chest portrait) which shows him wearing the KC (which evidently is not retouched) - remarkabely V's uniform on that photo is that of his peace-time unit, Pi.Btl 12.
