14 juni 1942: Ofw Hans Ahrens, Gunner, 2./ LG-1, MIA South of Insel Gardos (Crete), Ju 88A-4 Trop Werknummer 5542 coded "L1 + CH" probably shot down by a Beaufighter of No. 272 Sq., piloted by F/Sgt Tuckwell during Operation Vigorous, crew seen to take to their dinghy, but rescue attempts found their dingy empty, presuming they had been washed overboard during the night.
