Unit:
Kommandeur, 32. Infanterie-Division, Heer

December 9th, 1944
On the 02.11.1944 the 32. Infanterie-Division was thrown into battle in the Skrunda area within the sector of the 563. Volksgrenadier-Division. At that moment the Soviets had broken through the defenses and were advancing towards Bunki. Boeckh-Behrens’ Division was forced to strike from the march but was nonetheless able to complete its task with great élan. The unit threw back the Soviets to their starting point and simultaneously eliminated an old penetration near Klavi. By doing all this Boeckh-Behrens managed to acquire a significantly better frontline at the local level, and for this he and his Division were named in the Wehrmachtbericht.

Boeckh-Behrens would be awarded the Knight’s Cross for this bold action as well as for previously distinguishing himself in the Newel area.

4161st Heer Award.
Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes
