Biography

Moßgraber, son of the painter Eugen Moßgraber and his wife Adele Carola, born Gerhardy, after graduating from high school , the Reich Labor Service and his training as a pilot and active officer in the Air Force with the 2nd group / KG 3 since early 1941.
He died on November 27, 1942 during his 300th enemy flight in the area west of Bely (Tver Oblast) , when his Ju 88 A-4 was hit or shot down by the enemy flak during an attack on the enemy deployment area near Szapelkino / Sapelkino.
Moßgraber was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
Hans-Theo Moßgraber was buried in a war grave at Schatalowka-West field airport near Smolensk, which was later desecrated and leveled by the Soviets.
His older brother Georg Joachim ( born July 31, 1916), first lieutenant and fighter pilot in the 3rd squadron / Kampfgeschwader 27 ( He 111 H-5 ), had already fallen in Romania on July 18, 1941. His war grave was also destroyed by the enemy.
