Biography

After his training in February 1941, Leutnant Hans Steinwachs was placed with the 4./St.G.1. Until September 1944 he was placed with this unit. He became Staffelkapitän on November 25th 1942 and flew his 500th mission in October 1943. On January 1st 1944 het was promoted Hauptmann end became acting Gruppenkommandeur with II./S.G. 151 from September 1944. Hans Steinwachs was reported missing in action on February 14th 1945, after an attack with his Fw 190 over the Gladis-Gorpe bridgehead, near Naumburg/Bober.
