Biography

Egon Wiele was born on 10th February 1920 in Greifswald. He joined the Luftwaffe at an age of 19 years en became Beobachter. He fought over Norway ( amongst others over Oslo and Fornebo), England, France, Italy, Greece and North Africa. He was eventually shot down over Egypt. After two and a halve years of fighting he bacem prisoner of war with the Americans, where he stayed for seven years.
He died on 23rd December 2001.
