04.07.1940: Oberfeldwebel, 2nd emergency landing at St Omer airfield when attacked by Hurricanes, wounding the crew and damaging the aircraft :

22.08.1942: Oberleutnant, Flugzeugführer, 6. Staffel, Kampfgeschwader 2, POW when Do 217E-4 Werknummer 1152 coded "U5 + LP" shot down at Worlingsworth Suffolk by a Mosquito of 157th Squadron flown by W/C Slade - remaining crew (all POW):
