“During the fighting west of Tunis, Oberstleutnant im Generalstab Ulrich Bürker led a Kampfgruppe in a continued advance in the absence of his divisional commander. He personally took over its leadership, force a crossing over a river under heavy fire and forced far numerically superior enemy forces into a disordered rout while leaving behind 6 tanks, 8 guns and over 100 armoured transport vehicles.”
