Rüdiger von Heyking served as Kommodore Kampfgeschwader z.b.V. 2, Kommandeur Luftwaffen-Feld-Division 6 and Kommandeur 6. Fallschirmjäger-Division.From May 1st, 1945 until June 1946 he was a POW to the Americans.
