In January 1945 Soviet forces achieved a breakthrough near the village of Sehnorad. However this breakthrough was ultimately eliminated by German countermeasures. Obergefreiter Einfalt and his squad were heavily involved in this defensive success, and he would receive the Knight’s Cross in recognition of his actions here.
