Biography
Delbert Wayne Halsey was born in Baker, Montana, on 8 December 1919. He enlisted on 9 December 1940 and was appointed Aviation Cadet on 6 March 1941, undergoing training at the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, Florida, and Miami, Florida. Appointed Ensign, United States Naval Reserve, on 25 September, he reported to Bombing Squadron 6 (VB-6) on board U.S.S. Enterprise (CV-6).
