Citation:
"For extraordinary heroism while serving as a Squad Leader of Company F, Second Battalion, First Marines, First Marine Division, in action against enemy Japanese forces on Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands, 6 May 1945. Although sustaining a wound which later necessitated the amputation of one of his legs, Corporal Zamor led his squad during an attack on a fanatically-defended enemy hill and crawling forward in the face of intense artillery, mortar and machine-gun fire, destroyed a fieldpiece and annihilated eight Japanese soldiers. By his aggressive fighting spirit and courage, Corporal Zamor contributed materially to the successful advance of his company, and his unwavering devotion to duty was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
