Description:
"During the night of March 29th-30th, 1944, Soviet forces broke through the frontline between the Korps-Armee-Gruppe and the 361. Infanterie-Division and forced themselves during March 30th-31st, 1944 through the lines at Polwarki-Wielki. An attempt by the 361. Infanterie-Division to stop this attack was repelled by strong enemy forces. Here Hauptmann Schuck decided to face the enemy in a daring attack with his only 40 men strong remnents of his company. In the first assault they managed to take an enemy stronghold at the crossroads northeast of Vielkie. With a renewed attack the village of Dytkowce was entered. The attack was halted there. Hauptmann Schuck now personally intervened with some of his men and with man to man combat took the enemy stronghold."


According to Fellgiebel during the action he held the rank of Oberleutnant der Reserve.
