Summer 1943: Fahnenjunker-Feldwebel and Zugführer of the II./ 1./ I./ FJR.7 - took part in the fightings in Rome and in the raid to free Benito Mussolini at Gran Sasso.
01.08.1943: promoted to Leutnant
15.10.1943: transferred to 1./ Fsch.Jg.Rgt. 7 as a Zugführer
16.04.1944: Leutnant, 1./ Fsch.Lehr-Abt. awarded the DKiG
29.06.1944: transferred to Reserve Lazarett 101a.
01.12.1944: transferred to Reserve Lazarett 101 Döberitz

He had been Latin teacher before the war at a school in Saarland and spoke perfectly French and Italian.
He survived the war and lived in the German Democratic Republic.
